Jest najdalej na zach\u00f3d po\u0142o\u017con\u0105 wi\u0119ksz\u0105 wysp\u0105 z Wysp Zielonego Przyl\u0105dka i ca\u0142ego kontynentu afryka\u0144skiego oraz drug\u0105 co do wielko\u015bci w\u015br\u00f3d Wysp Zielonego Przyl\u0105dka.<\/p>\n<p>Wyspa w ca\u0142o\u015bci utworzona jest z materia\u0142u wulkanicznego. Najwy\u017csza g\u00f3ra Topo da Coroa osi\u0105ga wysoko\u015b\u0107 1979 m. Druga co do wysoko\u015bci jest Pico da Cruz i ma 1585 m. Wysp\u0119 dzieli na cz\u0119\u015b\u0107 p\u00f3\u0142nocn\u0105 i po\u0142udniow\u0105 pasmo g\u00f3rskie, kt\u00f3re d\u0142ugo uwa\u017cano za nieprzebyte, a obecnie jest przeci\u0119te przez drog\u0119. G\u0142\u00f3wnym miastem wyspy jest Ponta do Sol na p\u00f3\u0142nocnym wybrze\u017cu. Tam znajduje si\u0119 port lotniczy, podczas gdy port dla prom\u00f3w mie\u015bci si\u0119 w Porto Novo na po\u0142udniowym wybrze\u017cu. Po\u0142udniowo-wschodnia cz\u0119\u015b\u0107 wyspy posiada suchy klimat, natomiast p\u00f3\u0142nocno-zachodnia ma stosunkowo normalne opady.
